ProSeries Webinar: eFiling

ServeManager now offers eFiling in California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, and Texas. This feature allows ServeManager subscribers to file legal documents from ServeManager via our integration partner, InfoTrack, a certified electronic filing service provider. The result is a streamlined eFiling experience that will save you time and frustration.

For those new to this procedure, eFiling is the process of electronically submitting your legal documents into the court system. The documents consist of a variety of legal documents such as complaints, motions, notices, proofs of service, etc. The filer uses a certified portal called an electronic filing service provider (EFSP) that enables end users to submit their documents to the court. The EFSP safely and securely delivers your documents to the electronic filing manager (EFM), which is the court technology portal for clerks to review filings from filers, and accept or reject documents.

Our new eFiling integration will provide a number of benefits for ServeManager subscribers. Let’s start with the most important benefit: An additional service you can offer your clients—and a new revenue stream for your business. So if you’re not already offering eFiling to your clients, there couldn’t be a better time to get started. And if your business is already offering eFiling to clients, this new feature is going to save you precious time. From pre-populated case information to automatically uploaded documents to eFiling status updates, we’ve designed this integration to streamline the entire eFiling process, keeping your documents organized and eliminating the need to bounce around to different portals.

ServeManager’s eFiling integration partner, InfoTrack, focuses on integrating with practice management systems to automate key court filing tasks. They are a certified provider in each of the states they offer eFiling, and they plan to add more states in the near future. InfoTrack collects a small fee on a per transaction basis. They charge a flat $5.00 in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, and Texas and they charge $12.50 per filing in California. InfoTrack will pay the fees on your behalf, and invoice your company on a monthly basis. Invoices can be paid directly through the InfoTrack portal.

If you’re new to eFiling, be sure to study the state and local rules related to eFiling documents. The various courts have a number of requirements related to document format, text searchability, file sizes limits, and even removal of metadata. Further information can be found in the following guide. If you have additional questions regarding eFiling support, you can submit them here or use the live chat feature on the filing page.
